Hi guys!

I noticed a few of you had some questions about what I meant by pitches, so I'm gonna explain it all here ;3

First off, In the "real world" (tch, real world!) a pitch is usually a one or two sentence idea that television shows and films are based on. For our purposes thoug ;3 I think we should have something a touch longer, just so we can get a better idea of well, our ideas!

Anyone in our club can submit as many pitches as they like, the more ideas, the better!

Around January-ish, we'll possibly close submissions for pitches (if we get a good amount) and at that time we'll set up a voting thing. We'll narrow down the pitches by a ladder and the one we come out with will be our basis for the film.

After that, the person who made the pitch will work with our writers to make a screenplay, but we'll take it one step at a time, eh ;3

Now as far as pitches go, just submit a short plot summary with your DA username and pitch in the title of the submission.

Hi all! welcome to Clubimation, perhaps the first club for writers, artists, voice actors, and musicians to come together to create an animated short!

The goal of Clubimation is to unite artists, writers, musicians, and voice talents from around the world so that we can all create a traditional animated short. Clubimation is open to anyone, of any skill level! We will strive to teach the art of animation to our members, through tutuorials, and our "project".

If you're interested in joining, please note the club with the area you specialize in (you can specialize in more than one, or even all of them!) This is, so we know who we can ask for at different stages of the project!

Writers: will put our ideas into screenplay form! This is major impotante as they will shape the story from the first stage, and help all the other members get a clear understanding of the mood and the characters personalities.

Character Designers: work closely with our writers to visualize the characters of our story. Being a character designer is important because, without them, we'll all have different ideas of what our characters look like! that's no good!

Storyboard artists: organizes the writers story into something more visual and unified for the animators. Without them, nobodys animation would match!

Layout/Background artists: just because their art is in the background doesn't mean they're not important! They created the atmosphere and world our film will take place in!

Voice actors: provide voices ;3 this one's self-explanatory!

Timers: these folks will take our voices and analyze them...i don't expect too many people to know this, but it's incredibly simple, and i'll teach you all in a snap!

Animators: animate! we'll be doing this in 2D and, most likely be composting in After Effects. If you don't have photoshop or After effects, i highly reccommend obtianing them. ;3 by any means neccessary

Inkers/Colourists: will put the final touch on animations by lining them nicely and adding colour!

After effects people: if people want to help animate without drawing, they can composite scenes in after effects. If you have no idea wht I'm talking about, I'll explain in a future tutorial.

Musicians: will make a lovely score to match the film agter animation is done!

Everybody can critique on any other "department" or help out in another "department" in order to help make the film a success! This is just to know what you will enjoy working on best ;3 Pencil tests, screenplays and tutorials can be posted to the club account by ANYONE. please, do not abuse this priveledge!

Aside from members, we need a pitch for our film! anyone can send in a pitch, just so long as your a member of the club. Please sumbit the pitches as a breif, paragraph-long plot overview under the category prose. Please include "pitch" in the title. You can sumbit as many pitches to the club as you like. When we reach the deadline (I'm thinking January 1st?) we'll close all pitch submissions and vote to decide which one we will pursue as our film.

I'm also look for someone to help me manage the club! note me if your up to the task! In the perfect universe, I'd like to have a separate "head" for each "department"
